Uwe Westermann (born October 31, 1968 in Gütersloh ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The striker Uwe Westermann began his career at FC Gütersloh and moved to the second division Prussia Münster in the summer of 1989 . Westermann made his professional debut on August 6, 1989 in a 1-1 draw in Münster against KSV Hessen Kassel . After eight second division games and one goal, Westermann left Münster at the end of the season and joined SC Verl . In the 1991/92 season he was the top scorer in the Oberliga Westfalen with 19 goals this season . In 1993 Westermann returned to FC Gütersloh and missed the qualification for the newly created Regionalliga West / Südwest a year later with his team . Westermann then switched to TuS Ahlen , with whom he rose to the regional league twice in a row before ending his career in 1996. Today Westermann works in Leverkusen as a personal trainer .
