Association League Westphalia

The football Oberliga Westfalen 1991/92 was the 14th season of the Oberliga Westfalen . The championship was secured for the third time by last year's relegated Preußen Münster with two points ahead of the tied teams VfR Sölde , defending champion SC Verl and Arminia Bielefeld . In the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga , however , the Münsteraner were without a chance. With only one point, the Prussians finished last in Group 3 and thus missed the promotion. Runner-up Sölde qualified for the amateur championship and took fourth place in the northern group. The only athletic relegation was the tattered bottom 1. FC Recklinghausen . The ASC Schöppingen , in the previous year runner-up, withdrew for financial reasons. SpVg Brakel , the amateurs of FC Schalke 04 and SG Wattenscheid 09 as well as Sportfreunde Siegen rose from the association league . The Oberliga Westfalen played with 18 teams in the 1992/93 season.
