The Football Oberliga Westfalen 1986/87 was the ninth season of the Oberliga Westfalen . The champions were SpVgg Erkenschwick with a five point lead over Prussia Münster . In the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga , Erkenschwick was fourth in the northern group and thus missed promotion. Runner-up Münster took part in the amateur championship , but was eliminated in the first round against the amateurs of Bayern Munich . The relegation ranks were occupied by SuS Hüsten 09 , 1. FC Recklinghausen and SC Eintracht Hamm . SC Buer-Hassel , SpVg Marl and the amateurs of Borussia Dortmund rose from the association league .
