Gisbert Paus (born August 4, 1955 - † October 28, 2019 ) was a German football player . The midfielder of the SpVgg Erkenschwick came in the years 1978 and 1979 in the German national soccer team of the amateurs to six missions and scored one goal.

The young talent was first used by the Schwarzrote from the Stimberg Stadium under coach Fritz Langner on April 28, 1974, in the away game against Viktoria Cologne, in the then second -rate regional football league West . Erkenschwick took 11th place in the last year of the old second-rate regional league, 1973/74, and was thus qualified for the newly created 2nd Bundesliga from 1974/75 . Under the new coach Hans-Wilhelm Loßmann, Paus increased his stakes in the 1975/76 season to 24 league games, in which he scored two goals. Under DFB coach Erich Ribbeck , the Erkenschwicker made his debut on November 8, 1978 in the international match in The Hague against the Netherlands (0-2) in the DFB amateur selection. Paus played two international matches with the DFB amateur national team in the first half of the championship season. It was the two Olympic qualifying games on September 26th in Trondheim against Norway (0-2) and on October 10th in Helsinki against Finland (0-0). He played his sixth and last selection game among the DFB amateurs in Helsinki alongside Jürgen Halbe , Hans-Peter Stark , Ralf Obermüller and Arno Wolf . The history of the amateur national team ended with the 154th international match on November 14, 1979 in Baunatal against Norway (0: 1).

After the rise of SpVgg Erkenschwick in 1980 in the 2nd Bundesliga, Paus joined FC Gütersloh in the amateur league of Westphalia in the 1980/81 season and did not return to paid football. He then played for SC Eintracht Hamm , with whom he reached the final of the German amateur championship in 1984 , as well as Preußen Münster and Westfalia Herne . With Münster, Paus was runner-up in the Oberliga Westfalen in 1986/87 under coach Helmut Horsch and entered the competition for the German amateur championship against the amateurs of FC Bayern Munich with the "Adlers" from Hammer Strasse .
