Uwe Eplinius (born September 7, 1958 ) is a former German soccer player .

career

As a youth he played for FTSV Komet Blankenese , Altonaer FC von 1893 and SC Concordia Hamburg . In the 1978/79 round he played with the Red-Blacks from the Marienthal Stadium in the amateur Oberliga Nord and was appointed to the amateur national team for the first time on November 8, 1978 at the international match in The Hague against the Netherlands . Until the end of the round, three more appointments were made by the responsible DFB trainer Erich Ribbeck . The DFB had moved away from the model of the "Olympic amateurs" from the Bundesliga and filled the amateur national team primarily from the amateur top leagues. For the 1979/80 season, the 1.78 m tall midfielder moved to SpVgg Erkenschwick and won the championship in the Football Oberliga Westfalen with the team from the Stimberg Stadium in front of 1. FC Paderborn and thus rose to the 2. Bundesliga North. With the last game of the amateur national team - the 154th international game - on November 14, 1979 in Baunatal against Norway, this section of his football career was over for him after seven appearances - three of them in his time in Erkenschwick.

On August 6, 1980 at the game of Erkenschwicker at Alemannia Aachen, Eplinius made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga. He completed 38 league games alongside the veteran Hans-Jürgen Wittkamp and scored a goal for coach Klaus Quinkert's team. After the descent of the Erkenschwicker, he joined Hessen Kassel in 1981/82 and continued to play football in the second division.

In the first year he finished eighth in the table with the North Hessians from Auestadion and coach Rudi Kröner . At the side of teammates Gerd Grau , Heinz Traser , Hans Wulf and Klaus Zaczyk , he completed 30 games and scored two goals. In the next three rounds - 1982/83 to 1984/85 - he reached fourth place in the table with Kassel. Once (1982/83) with trainer Friedhelm Konietzka and the following two rounds with trainer Jörg Berger . The placement in the 1984/85 series was particularly bitter for the club, coach, team and supporters. Eplinius had played 34 games and scored two goals and was after the penultimate matchday (37th), after the 2-2 home draw against Hannover 96 in front of 23,000 spectators, with 49:25 points in first place. On June 9, 1985, the last game day of the round, Kassel lost 2-0 goals at 1. FC Nürnberg and fell back to third place with equal points with 1. FC Saarbrücken. Nuremberg and Hanover rose directly to the Bundesliga and the Saarlanders prevailed in the relegation against Arminia Bielefeld and thus also reached the Bundesliga .

The ex-Hamburger completed his last second division game on June 14, 1987 at the home game against Arminia Bielefeld. In 1986/87, KSV Hessen Kassel was relegated to relegation from players who could not be compensated in terms of sport and a carousel of coaches with four people in turn - Rudi Kröner, Elmar Müller, Werner Biskup, Holger Brück.

Overall, Eplinius came from 1980 to 1987 to 239 games in the 2nd division and scored 12 goals.

After his active time he worked as a physiotherapist and from 2004 to 2011 he was the head physiotherapist at Hamburger SV .
