Hans Wulf (born October 31, 1951 in Essen ) is a former German soccer player .

Athletic career

He played for the Essen district club SV Teutonia Überruhr until he was 18, where he was initially a striker and only took on the goalkeeping position as an A-youth . In 1969 he switched to Schwarz-Weiß Essen . At the ETB he made his debut in the Regionalliga West in the first team in 1973/74 and was there in the following three and a half years in the northern season of the 2nd Bundesliga in goal.

In early 1978 he went to North America for a season in the NASL with the Rochester Lancers and in the winter of 1978/79 he joined the southern second division team Wormatia Worms for a year and a half . After that, the 1.83 meter tall goalkeeper was under contract with KSV Hessen Kassel , who also played in the second division south . In 1986 he moved to Hannover 96 . With this club, he was promoted to the Bundesliga in the 1986/87 season . In the 5: 5 draw on the last matchday away against the relegated FSV Salmrohr , which was meaningless for the already promoted Hanoverians , Wulf was substituted on for the injured Karsten Surmann 26 minutes before the end of the game and even scored a goal. In 1987/88 he played eight games for 96 in the Bundesliga .

In 1988 Wulf returned to Kassel and helped with promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga . From 1990 to 1998 he played for the North Hessian league club FSC Lohfelden , where he only stopped at the age of 47 due to a knee injury. With 440 second division games, Hans Wulf is fourth in the league ranking .
