Dieter Walter (born July 25, 1948 ) is a former German soccer player . The striker on right winger was active his entire career for SpVgg Erkenschwick and played 145 games (33 goals) in the Regionalliga West from 1969 to 1974 and a total of 72 games (ten goals) in the 2nd Bundesliga North from 1974 to 1976 .

Dieter Walter played in the youth department of SpVgg Erkenschwick and was integrated into the first men's team for the 1968/69 season with other young homegrown players such as Peter Anders and Gerd Deutschmann . The club reached the second place in the table behind the DJK Gütersloh in the then Association League Westphalia and thus took part in the German amateur championship , where they reached the final, but lost to SC Jülich 1: 2. In addition, Dieter Walter was able to celebrate promotion to the Regionalliga West with the game association as the club's runner-up in 1969. After fifth place in 1977, he achieved with SpVgg. Erkenschwick 1978 the runner-up, whereby the club qualified again for the German amateur championship.
