The Football Oberliga Westfalen 1989/90 was the twelfth season of the Football Oberliga Westfalen . Arminia Bielefeld secured her first and only title after narrowly missing out on the championship last season. In the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga , however, the Bielefeld failed to the northern representatives VfB Oldenburg and TSV Havelse . Runner-up was TuS Paderborn-Neuhaus , who failed in the amateur championship in the semi-finals at FSV Salmrohr . In the Federation League which had to hammer SpVg , the FC Gütersloh and Westfalia Herne descend. In return, 1. FC Recklinghausen and Rot-Weiss Lüdenscheid returned to the league, while VfB Hüls was promoted to the league for the first time.
