Uwe Wolfgang Heye

Uwe Wolfgang Heye (born September 2, 1954 in Peine ) is a German diplomat . He has been Ambassador to Panama since August 2017 .

Live and act

After high school (1973) and military service (1973-1975) Heye began studying economics , which he graduated in 1980 with a diploma. In 1981 Heye joined the Foreign Service and completed the preparatory service for the higher foreign service by 1983 . He then worked at the Embassy in Rabat / Morocco until 1986 and then moved to the Embassy in Muscat / Oman as deputy head , where he stayed until 1989.

After three years in the Foreign Office, Heye went to the Embassy in Copenhagen and in 1995 came back to the Foreign Office as Deputy Head of Department. The following foreign assignments took Heye to the embassies in Pretoria (1998–2003) and Budapest (2003–2006) as well as to the Permanent Mission to the OECD in Paris (2006–2010).

From 2010 to 2014 he was again in the Foreign Office, from 2011 as Head of Unit. In 2014 Heye moved to the Consulate General in Sao Paulo as Deputy Head and was sent to Panama as Ambassador in August 2017 .

Uwe Wolfgang Heye is married and has three children.
