Väinö Petter Tiihonen (born November 28, 1912 in Helsinki , † July 27, 1957 in Kuopio ) was a Finnish ski jumper .

Career

Tilhonen made his international debut at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Sollefteå in 1934 . With jumps on 45 and 53 meters he reached the 27th place.

Two years later at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , he finished ninth on the normal hill after jumps on 71.5 and 70 meters. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1938 in his adopted home Lahti , he started as a member of a large Finnish starter group. In the individual competition, he also landed ninth with jumps on 61.5 and 63.5 meters.
