Vít Jedlička (born September 6, 1983 ) is a Czech politician of the Svobodní party , publicist and activist .

education and profession

Vít Jedlička obtained a bachelor's degree from the University of Economics in Prague in 2009 and a master's degree from the CEVRO Institute in 2014 . Since 2003 he has worked for companies in the information and communication technology sector. Jedlička worked as a financial market analyst in 2013 and 2014 .

Political commitment

Czech Republic

Initially a member of the Democratic Citizens' Party from 2001 , Jedlička joined the Free Citizens Party in 2009 . Jedlička is chairman of the regional association Hradec Kralove his party as well as founder and chairman of the citizens' initiative Reformy.cz .

Liberland

On April 13, 2015 Jedlička proclaimed the “Free Republic of Liberland”, which claims a deserted area between an old tributary and the main arm of the Danube , which is considered no man's land due to border disputes between Croatia and Serbia . He was elected " President " of the virtual state by fellow campaigners . Since then Jedlička has been the subject of international media coverage.
