VIP (Hungarian band)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

VIP was a Hungarian boy band that existed from 1997 to 2001. The members were the singers Alex Józsa, Gergő Rácz, Imre Rakonczai and Viktor Rakonczai.

The group was able to prevail against 18 other candidates in the Hungarian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 and won with the pop song Miért kell, hogy elmenj? (Eng .: Why do you have to go? ). At the contest in Dublin the band reached number 12 with the title.

Until they broke up, the band released four albums and a best-of compilation. The singers then switched to other groups and remained musically active.
