VS Ramadevi
VS Ramadevi ( Telugu : వి. ఎస్. రమాదేవి ; born January 15, 1934 in Chebrolu , Andhra Pradesh ; † April 17, 2013 in Bangalore , Karnataka ) was an Indian politician.
Life
Ramadevi completed her training in Eluru and Hyderabad . She studied law and obtained an LL.M. - and an MA degree. She was then registered as an attorney at Andhra Pradesh High Court and then went into civil service. After years in the judiciary, she briefly chaired the Indian Electoral Commission in 1990. From July 1, 1993 to July 25, 1997, she was Secretary General of the Rajya Sabha . She served as the governor of Himachal Pradesh from July 26, 1997 to December 1, 1999, and from December 2, 1999 to August 20, 2002, the governor of Karnataka .
Ramadevi died on April 17, 2013 in Bangalore.
