List of Governors of Himachal Pradesh

The following table lists the governors of Himachal Pradesh with their respective terms of office. The area of ​​Himachal Pradesh became a centrally administered part of the Indian Union on April 15, 1948 as Punjab Hill States and was classified as a C state from 1950. On November 1, 1956, it became Union territory . Until 1952 the highest office was that of Chief Commissioner, then until 1971 that of Lieutenant Governor . In 1971, Himachal Pradesh was granted state status and has been headed by a governor ever since.
