V1331 Cygni is a variable star in the constellation Swan . The star is surrounded by a dust ring about 30 arcseconds in diameter and, as images from the Hubble Space Telescope show, a narrower one with 13 arcseconds; it is at the tip of the dark cloud LDN 981. The star is almost 2000 light years away, is still very young and is not yet on the main sequence .
