V8 is a US trademark of the company Continental Foods for vegetable juice .

The juice was produced since 1933 by the former company WG Peacock (1896-1948), the founder of the New England Products Company , later by the Campbell Soup Company . The name "V8" is derived from the term vegetable , English for vegetables, and the eight types of vegetables that make up the juice: tomatoes , beetroot , celery , carrots , lettuce , parsley , watercress and spinach .

The tomato juice is the main ingredient with 87%. It is colored and seasoned by a concentrate of other vegetables.
