The VR Bank Starnberg-Herrsching-Landsberg eG is a cooperative financial institution in Bavaria . It was created through the merger of the three regional banks Raiffeisenbank Starnberg eG, Volksbank Herrsching-Landsberg-Starnberg eG and Raiffeisenbank Vierseenland, the oldest of which was founded in 1893. With the establishment of the cooperative bank committed itself to the economic promotion of its customers and members. The institute tries to fulfill this obligation by promoting the regional economy and a broad social presence. VR Bank Starnberg-Herrsching-Landsberg eG is one of the financially strongest cooperative credit institutions in Bavaria. Due to the merger of the VR Bank Starnberg-Herrsching-Landsberg eG with the Raiffeisenbanken Lech-Ammersee eG and südöstl. Starnberger See eG, VR Bank was able to further expand this position.
history
The oldest cooperative in the Starnberg district was the Oberalting Loan Association, founded in 1893 . The oldest predecessor institute of VR Bank Starnberg-Herrsching-Landsberg eG is the Dettenschwang loan association founded in 1888. In 1962 it was decided to merge with Raiffeisenbank Weßling . Raiffeisenbank Erling-Herrsching-Machtlfing was integrated in 1980 and the newly formed cooperative was entered in the cooperative register under the name Raiffeisenbank Vierseenland. In 1999, Raiffeisenbank Starnberg, founded in 1895, merged with Volksbank Herrsching-Landsberg-Starnberg eG, founded in 1925. The Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Starnberg-Herrsching-Landsberg eG was created. In 2015 the Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Starnberg-Herrsching-Landsberg eG merged with the Raiffeisenbanken Lech-Ammersee eG and south-east. Starnberger See eG together.
Employer and training company
With around 400 employees, the bank is a major employer. The training to become a bank clerk takes place in all areas of the company so that trainees get a precise insight into the company. Social Commitment

VR Bank Starnberg-Herrsching-Landsberg eG promotes non-profit and regional projects in the fields of education, culture, sport, science and social affairs with the initiative of the Starnberg District Community Foundation . After it was founded in 2009, two foundation funds were created under the umbrella of the community foundation:
- Together for Gauting LiA and Insel : The foundation provides independent help for older people in Gauting and supports senior citizens' work in the community.
- Cultural funding Kurparkschlösschen Herrsching : The foundation supports cultural funding in Herrsching, Breitbrunn and Widdersberg.
