Vahram Zaryan
Vahram Zaryan ( Armenian Վահրամ Զարյան ) is a French actor , pantomime , performance artist, theater director and choreographer .
Life
The Armenian origin Zaryan studied theater , physical representation of art and dance in the studio d'Art Dramatique de Théatre d'Abelyan in Vanadzor and in the National School of Dramatic Art of Armenia . He specialized in pantomime and began performing his plays at the State Pantomime Theater in Yerevan under the direction of Zhirayr Dadasyan. He also attended classes in classical dance with Yves Casati at the Paris Opera and with Yvan Bacciocchi in the Atelier de Belleville in the "technique Decroux" discipline. Vahram Zaryan studied mimodrama at the École Internationale de Mimodrame under the artistic direction of Marcel Marceau and finally graduated with honors. He also took part in workshops and master courses under the artificial direction of Ariane Mnouchkine , Carolyn Carlson and Maurice Béjart .
Zaryan is part of the theater group Mille Pattes with which he mainly appears in Paris and the surrounding area. He has also founded his own ensemble with fellow actors from Marcel Marceau's drama school (Le Shéatre Suspendu). The ensemble has created various pieces and performs them mainly in France: in the Lavoir Moderne in Paris in 2007 and in the Czech Republic in the Divadlo Na Prádle as part of the Fringe (Theater) Festival.
Parallel to the ensemble's joint project, Zaryan also interpreted the role of the pantomime at a gala in the Palais Garnier , pays tribute to the filmmaker Sergei Parajanov in a performance entitled “Couleurs de la grande” and also to Charlie Chaplin in a play that was specially designed was designed for cinema halls. His performances also include the embodiment of Vespone in Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's opera La serva padrona at the Théâtre du Tambour Royal in Paris.
Vahram Zaryan Company
Vahram Zaryan is the founder of the theater group "La Compagnie Vahram Zaryan", which specializes mainly in mimodramas and translates contemporary literature into physical and movement theater. His body and movement theater is accompanied by a dramaturge and a cameraman, who merge their work into a work of art made of text, video and audio . A constantly recurring theme in his work is the question of identity and exile.
Art has a visible influence on Zaryan: he processes contemporary perspectives with his own interpretations in order to give relevance and reason to his appearances. Together with the dramaturge F. Bracon he designed the play “Confession”, which is performed in Eastern Europe as well as in the International Pantomime Festival of Armenia.
"Il ya", which was played in the Cité Universitaire Internationale in Paris, and "Mater Replik", which was played in the Atelier du Plateau in Paris and toured Europe, the United States of America and Russia, followed shortly thereafter . The ensemble will also play “La tête en bas” based on the novel by Noëlle Châtelet (2002), which will be staged as a mimodrama in the 2013/14 season.
Works and performance
Vahram Zaryan is also involved in international, contemporary art, so he performs his productions in museums and art galleries. In 2014 he joined Nina Childress at the Bernard Jordan art gallery in Paris to stage a performance based on the mime Étienne Decroux for the exhibition Rideau Vert .

In 2012 and 2013 the theater group Vahram Zaryan is part of the Théâtre Monfort and the Etablissement Culturel of the city of Paris. He also takes part in projects partially funded by the DAC and DASCO of the City of Paris.
