Valdemaras Valkiūnas
Valdemaras Valkiūnas ( Latvian Valdemar Valkuns * 26. August 1959 in Gajūnai , Rajongemeinde Biržai ) is a Lithuanian and Latvian entrepreneurs and politicians , 2015-2019 Mayor of Rajongemeinde Biržai.
Life
From 1978 to 1980 he served in the Soviet Army in Rukla near Jonava . In 1992 he started his business in Latvia . From 1992 to 2008 he was president and owner of SIA “Voldemars”, co-owner of the “VALDO” trademark. In 2001 he graduated from the University of Education in psychology . From 2007 to 2008 he was a member of the Biržai Council and from 2008 to 2012 a member of the Seimas, selected as an independent candidate in the Biržai- Kupiškis constituency . In 2011 he was the richest member of the Seimas .
From 2006 to 2008 he was a member of the Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija (LSDP). He is the chairman of Respublikonų partija .
He is a patron of the Lithuanian Middle School in Riga , Latvia.
