Little information has come down to us about the life of Valentin Bousch. He worked for the church of Saint-Nicolas-de-Port from 1514 to 1520. Here are several windows and the rose window from him. He also created windows in the priory church of Varangéville , which was destroyed during the First World War.

On September 25, 1518 Valentin Bousch was appointed glass painter at Metz Cathedral. He set up his workshop in the city and over the following years created the windows of the choir for the cathedral and for the south side of the transept . At the same time he created windows for houses, churches and chapels in the city and the surrounding area on behalf of the patricians of the city of Metz.
