Valentin Dretzel

Valentin Dretzel , also Drechsel , Tretzel or Trexel (baptized on May 30, 1578 in Nuremberg ; † March 1658 there ) was a German organist and composer.

After completing his training, he worked as an organist in various churches in his hometown. He came from a musical family, his brothers Michael (1576–1635) and Wolfgang (1585–1655) were also musicians.

In addition to numerous occasional works, he mainly composed sacred vocal music, including a Magnificat and several motets in polyphonic movements.
