Valentin Kuhbandner

Valentin Kuhbandner (born February 14, 1921 in Immenreuth ; † September 16, 1980 in Neusorg ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Kuhbandner attended elementary school and a humanistic grammar school. He did his apprenticeship as an industrial clerk. In the Second World War he was the last platoon leader of the German paratroopers and was an American prisoner of war. After his release he worked as an interpreter for the military government, later he was in charge of the railway police station and was a works officer for the German Federal Railroad . In 1952 he was elected to the district council, two years later he became deputy district administrator, and in 1956 he became parliamentary group leader of the SPD in the district council of Upper Palatinate . In 1958 he was elected district administrator for the district of Kemnath . From 1966 to 1978 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .

Kuhbandner was chairman of the Bavarian Red Cross in the district of Kemnath, an action member of the SOS Children's Village Association and holder of the state sports association's gold plaque for special promotion of sport.
