Valentina Ciurina

Valentina Ciurina (born August 30, 1978 in Leningrad ) is a Russian-born Moldovan biathlete .

Valentina Ciurina started biathlon in 1997. She is trained by Petru Bria and starts for the Central Army Club . She has been part of the Moldovan national team since 2000. In that year she also made her biathlon world cup debut in Hochfilzen . In her first race, an individual, she was 74. At the end of the season, she started for the first time in biathlon world championships . In Pokljuka she was 72nd in the individual and 74th in the sprint. Highlight the following season were the Olympic Games of Salt Lake City . There a 48th place in the pursuit was her best result. Between her World Cup appearances, the Moldovan competed in the European Cup again and again, where she achieved multiple single-digit results. In the World Cup, her best result was a 30th place, which she achieved in a sprint in Hochfilzen in 2004. At the same time it was her first world cup point win.
