Valentino Fois
Valentino Fois (born September 23, 1973 in Bergamo , † March 28, 2008 in Villa d'Almè ) was an Italian cyclist .
Valentino Fois was first in the overall ranking at the Giro della Valle d'Aosta in 1995 . The next year he became a professional at Panaria-Vinavil , where he celebrated his first professional success with a stage win at the Tour de Pologne . In 1997 he drove for Mapei-GB and then moved to Vini Caldirola , where he won the Giro del Mendrisiotto in 1999. 2002 drove Fois for the team Mercatone Uno , where he was convicted of doping and received a three-year ban. For the 2008 season he became a professional again with the Continental Team Amore & Vita .
In 1997, Fois was banned from doping for twelve months after testing positive for testosterone use . After another positive doping test in 2002, he was banned for three years and sentenced to pay a fine.
On March 28, 2008, Valentino Fois was found dead in his apartment in Almè. The cause of death is unclear.
