Valerijus Ponomariovas

Valerijus Ponomariovas (born September 12, 1953 in Šiauliai ) is a Lithuanian politician, former Vice Minister .

Life

After graduating from the Šiauliai Middle School, Valerijus Ponomariovas graduated from the Inžinerinis statybos institutas in Vilnius with a degree in civil engineering and became a civil engineer . From 1982 to 1984 he studied further at the Vilnius Party School .

From 1996 to 1997 he headed the supervisory authority LR Vyriausybės Valstybinės tabako ir alkoholio kontrolės tarnyba as director. From 2001 to 2004 he was Deputy Minister of Transport of Lithuania and Chairman of the Board of “ Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai ” AB.

From 1990 he was a member of Lietuvos Demokratieinė darbo partija and from 2001 of Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija . From 1995 he was a member of the council of the district municipality of Utena and from 2003 of the municipality of Vilnius .
