Valinhos is a city in Brazil with around 127,000 inhabitants. It is located in the state of São Paulo , a few kilometers east of Campinas . In Valinhos is the "Condomínio Sans Souci", where a numerically significant part of the high society of Campinas and the region lives. Valinhos is also the cosmopolitan city of figs. The festival of the fig - Festa do Figo - takes place here every year.

The city has an area of approx. 148 km², of which 89 km² are rural. The rivers Rio Atibaia and Rio Capivari and the streams Pinheiros, Bom Jardim and Dois Córregos flow through the area that lies at the foothills of the Serra da Mantiqueira . The highest point is 969 meters.

At a 2000 census, Valinhos had 82,973 inhabitants, of whom 41,216 were male and 41,557 were female. 56,934 of these people were of eligible age.
