The Valle d'Itria is in the middle of Puglia Situated landscape that under the Metropolitan city of Bari and the provinces of Brindisi and Taranto divides. It coincides with the southern part of the Murge limestone plateau and extends mainly over the municipalities of Locorotondo , Cisternino and Martina Franca and, in small parts, over the localities of Alberobello , Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica . The Valle d'Itria is known as the " Valley of the Trulli ", which means the traditional round houses. The flora is characterized by olive groves and vineyards from which the white wines Locorotondo DOC and Martina Franca DOC are obtained. The Festival della Valle d'Itria in Martina Franca is named after the landscape.
