Vanda Briedienė

Vanda Briedienė (born November 13, 1932 in Biržai ; † April 27, 2013 ) was a Lithuanian politician.

Life

She studied at the Biržai grammar school . From 1949 to 1957 she was with her mother to Siberia, Rajon Taishet ( Irkutsk Oblast deported). There she worked and graduated from evening middle school. From 1955 she studied at the Institute of Finance and Economics in Irkutsk . From 1958 to 1965 she worked in Panevėžys . In 1960 she graduated from the Moscow Institute of Finance and Economics . From 1966 to 1968 she graduated from the postgraduate at the Vilniaus universitetas and in 1969 received his doctorate in economics .

From 1968 she taught at the VU and from 1978 to 1992 at the Lietuvos kūno kultūros institutas and Kauno medicinos institutas as a lecturer. From 1992 to 1996 she was a member of the Seimas .

She was a member of Lietuvos krikščionių Demokratie partija and Lietuvos politinių kalinių ir tremtinių sąjunga .

Her son Vitalis Briedis is a professor at LSMU .

Her grave is in the Karmėlava cemetery .
