Vanessa Martini (born September 26, 1989 in Rees ) is a German soccer player .

Career

She played the defender at her home club SV Rees and FCR Duisburg. In 2007 and 2009 she was with FCR 2001 Duisburg in the DFB Cup final, which she won in 2009. In the 2009 calendar year of the 2008/09 season, she only made two games in the first team for FCR Duisburg due to injury. In the catch-up game at Bayern Munich , which FCR won 4-0, Martini scored the 3-0. For the 2009/10 season Martini moved to SG Essen-Schönebeck . With Essen, she reached the DFB Cup final again in 2014 , here it was not enough for the title. Vanessa Martini matured into a leading player at SGS Essen and was a role model as a captain. After 153 games and four goals in eight seasons, Martini announced her departure from Essen in May 2017 and moved to MSV Duisburg .
