Vanessa Wormer

Vanessa Wormer (born 1987 in Bruchsal ) is a German journalist .

Life and work

Vanessa Wormer was born in Bruchsal in 1987 and graduated from the Justus-Knecht-Gymnasium there in 2007 . From 2008 to 2010 she took part in the accompanying journalism training at the Catholic journalism school ifp and studied history and German for a master’s degree at the University of Mannheim . She then worked as an online editor for Heilbronner Demokratie . In 2015, she completed the Lede Program at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism . Since September 2015 she has been working as a data journalist for the Süddeutsche Zeitung .

Awards

She received several awards for her publication about the Panama Papers in the Süddeutsche Zeitung in spring 2016: as Journalist of the Year 2016, with the Helmut Schmidt Journalist Prize 2016 and indirectly with the Pulitzer Prize 2017.
