Varg Gyllander

Varg Gyllander (* 1964 in Scania ) is a Swedish author of crime novels and press officer of the Swedish Police Department County of Stockholm .

Life

Gyllander was born in Skåne as the son of an oil tanker captain. Since his family moved frequently, he grew up in Stockholm , Norrköping , Linköping and Borgholm . In Karlskrona he graduated from the Swedish Navy Officers College . He then worked as a naval officer, teacher, and cook. Most recently he attended a journalism school and worked for two years for the newspaper Norrköpings Tidningar . While working for the news agency Tidningarnas Telegrambyrå (TT) he worked with the writer Stieg Larsson . First Gyllander was employed as a press secretary for the Swedish Criminal Police and then as press spokesman for the Stockholm Police Department. He lives with his two sons in the Stockholm district of Stora Essingen .

Gyllander became known with his crime novels, the protagonists of which are the meticulous and withdrawn forensic scientist Ulf Holtz and the forensic scientist Pia Levin. He made his debut in 2009 with "The Smiling Murderer". Of the four books published so far in the series, three have been published in German. In May 2014 the last and final part with the title “Min är hämnden” will be published.
