The Varianta sailing boat class is particularly common in western and northern Germany.
history
It is a keel sword designed by EG van de Stadt and built almost 4,000 times by the Dehler shipyard between 1967 and 1982. This made the Varianta Germany's best-selling cabin boat at the time.
On May 6, 1971, the Varianta was recognized by the German Sailing Association as a one-type class.
The ship exists in three designs:
- Varianta (also known as K3 ): small, removable cabin (hardtop), not self-draining ; Years of construction: 1966–1968, construction number 1 to 275
- Varianta K4 : Fixed cabin with sliding hatch and four berths , self-draining, slightly increased cockpit - sill ; Years of construction: 1969–1972, construction number 276 to 1075
- Varianta 65 : 10 cm longer, larger cabin, self-draining, strongly raised cockpit coaming; Years of construction: 1972–1982, construction number from 1076
Especially in the west and north of the Federal Republic of Germany, the ship is still used for sport by many active regatta sailors (K3 / K4) and touring sailors (65).
