Vasile Deheleanu (born August 12, 1910 in Temesvár , Austria-Hungary , † April 30, 2003 ) was a Romanian football player . He played a total of 73 games in the Divizia A . In 1933, 1935, 1936 and 1938 he won the Romanian championship with Ripensia Timișoara . As a national player, he took part in the 1934 World Cup.

Career

Deheleanu's career began with Politehnica Timișoara in his hometown. He played with his team in the regional championship of Timișoara, but could not prevail against local rivals Chinezul and qualify for the finals. In 1928 he moved to România Cluj . With his new team he made it to the finals and made it into the 1929 final , but lost to Venus Bucharest 2: 3. The two following years he missed the necessary victory in the regional championship with his team. In 1931 he joined the reigning master UDR Reșița , but could not win the title, as Venus Bucharest was again stronger in the 1932 final .

With the establishment of the Romanian professional league Divizia A in 1932, he moved to Ripensia Timișoara . Ripensia became one of the most successful Romanian clubs of the 1930s. Deheleanu won the Romanian championship four times with the team ( 1932/33 , 1934/35 , 1935/36 and 1937/38 ) and the Romanian Cup twice ( 1933/34 and 1935/36 ). In 1939 he ended his career.

National team

Deheleanu played five games for the Romanian national team . He made his debut in the decisive qualifier for the 1934 World Cup against Yugoslavia , which was won 2-1. Then he was part of the squad of national coach Constantin Rădulescu for the finals in Italy . There he was used in the 1: 2 defeat against Czechoslovakia . After the tournament he played in three friendlies. He played his last international match on November 3, 1935 against Poland .
