The Cupa României in 1936 was the third tournament for the Romanian Football Cup . The winner was Ripensia Timișoara , which was able to prevail in the final against Unirea Tricolor Bucharest . Defending champion CFR Bucharest was eliminated in a new edition of the previous year's final in the sixteenth finals against Ripensia Timișoara.

The clubs of Divizia A only started in the round of the last 32 teams. Initially, only one game was played. If this was a draw after 90 minutes, an extension of 30 minutes followed. Only when this also ended in a draw was a second leg played to bring about a decision. If the second leg ended in a draw after extra time, home rights were swapped until a winner was determined.
