The Cupa României was played for the 74th time in the 2011/12 season. The official name of the competition was "Cupa României Timișoreana ". In the final, which was played for the first time in the Arena Națională in Bucharest , Dinamo Bucharest beat city rivals Rapid Bucharest 1-0 and qualified for the 2012/13 UEFA Europa League .
