Nicolae Adrian Grigore (born July 19, 1983 in Buftea , Ilfov County ) is a Romanian football player . The midfielder has been under contract with FC Voluntari since summer 2015 .
Career
At the age of 17 Grigore came in 2001 in the squad of the first team of Rapid Bucharest , where he came on May 16, 2001 for his first appearance in Divizia A (now League 1 ). At the beginning of the new season he was loaned to Electromagnetica Bucharest in the Divizia B to collect match practice. He returned to Rapid during the winter break, but hardly got a chance in the second half of the season. The 2002/03 season brought him more inserts and a larger share of the championship win, but he could not assert himself as a regular player.
After Grigore in the second half of 2003/04 to the FC Brasov was borrowed, he came though more appearances for Rapid, but could his place in the team did not defend for a long period. In May 2004 he was tested positive for norandrosterone and then became the first Romanian soccer player to be banned for doping . He won the Romanian Cup in 2006 and 2007 . In 2009 Grigore left Rapid and finally moved to Brașov, where he was able to fight for a regular place. However, he returned to Rapid after a year and qualified with the team for the Europa League at the end of the season . He was able to repeat this success a year later . At the same time he moved into the cup final in 2012 , but lost there 0-1 to Dinamo Bucharest .
In the summer of 2013, Grigore left Romania and joined the Saudi Arabian club al-Ettifaq . He left this in summer 2014 to Apollon Limassol in Cyprus. There he only came to one assignment and moved back to Romania to Dinamo Bucharest in early 2015 .
National team
Grigore played his first game for the Romanian national soccer team when he played in the World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands on October 14, 2009 . In November 2011 he returned to the national team when national coach Victor Pițurcă nominated him for two friendly matches against Belgium and Greece . He made his comeback against Belgium when he came on for Ionuț Neagu in the 86th minute .
