The Cupa României in the 1975/76 season was the 38th tournament for the Romanian Football Cup . The winner for the twelfth time was Steaua Bucharest , who prevailed in the final on June 30, 1976 against second division club CSU Galați . Defending champion Rapid Bucharest was eliminated in the quarterfinals against the new title holder.

mode

The clubs of Divizia A only started in the round of the last 32 teams. From the round of 16 onwards, all games - apart from the final, which traditionally took place in Bucharest - were played on a neutral pitch. Only one game was played at a time. If this was a draw after 90 minutes, an extension of 30 minutes followed. If there was still no decision after that, it was brought about on penalties .
