The clubs of Divizia A only got in the round of the last 32 teams and had to play away first. In the round of 16, all games took place in a neutral place. Only one game was played at a time. If this was a draw after 90 minutes, an extension of 30 minutes followed. If after that there was still no decision, the lower class team advanced. If both played in the same league, the team with the lower average age advanced to the next round. In the sixteenth finals, in the event of a tie after extra time, the away team went on one round.
In the quarter-finals and semi-finals, the winner was determined in the first and second leg.
