Ion Iuliu Haidu (born January 1, 1942 in Sfântu Gheorghe ) is a former Romanian football player . The striker denied 201 games in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A .
Career
After the youth in his hometown Sfântu Gheorghe Haidu moved in 1959 to CS Targu Mures , which in Divizia B played. After the merger with local rivals Voința Târgu Mureș, the club played under the name CS Mureșul from 1960 .
Since Haidu was part of the team that had won the European Youth Championship in 1962, he came to Divizia A when this team appeared under the name Viitorul Bucharest in the following season. However, when the team was dissolved again during the winter break, Haidu moved to league competitor Steagul Roșu Brașov .
In 1963 Haidu got the opportunity to move to one of the most successful Romanian clubs, the reigning champions Dinamo Bucharest . There he became a regular player and contributed six or ten goals to winning the championship again in 1964 and 1965 . He was also able to win the Romanian Cup with Dinamo in 1964 and Cupa României in 1967/68 .
In the early 1970s, Haidu lost his regular place at Dinamo and was no longer used regularly. As a result, his share in the 1971 championship was lower. In 1972 he left the club and moved to Divizia B to Chimia Râmnicu Vâlcea . There he was involved in the greatest successes of the club: winning the Romanian Cup in 1973 and the first promotion to Divizia A a year later. After relegation at the end of the 1974/75 season , Haidu ended his career.
