mode

The clubs of Divizia A only got in the round of the last 32 teams and had to play away first. From the round of 16 onwards, all games - apart from the final, which was traditionally played in Bucharest - took place in a neutral place. Only one game was played at a time. If this was a draw after 90 minutes, an extension of 30 minutes followed. If there was still no decision, a replay was played.
