Ștefan Costel Grigorie (born January 31, 1982 in Segarcea , Dolj district ) is a Romanian football player . The midfielder has been under contract with FC Brașov in Liga II since the beginning of 2016 .
Career
In the 1998/99 season Grigorie came into the squad of the first team of Universitatea Craiova , where he played on June 2, 1999 for the first time in Divizia A (now League 1 ). In the following season he came to more missions and was able to score his first goals, but was loaned to the local rivals UFC Electro Craiova in the Divizia B (now Liga II ) in the first half of the 2000/01 season. After his return he was able to assert himself as a regular player at Uni Craiova.
In 2002 Grigorie got the opportunity to change to Dinamo Bucharest and thus to the reigning Romanian champion. Also at Dinamo he became a regular player and won with the club the championship in 2004 and in the years 2003 , 2004 and 2005 three times in a row the Romanian Cup. Grigorie shone not only as a goal setter, but also as a goal scorer.
Despite the successes Grigorie left Dinamo in 2006 and moved together with his teammate Dan Alexa to the up-and-coming league competitor FC Timișoara . In Timișoara, however, he could not prevail as expected and returned to Bucharest a year later, where he signed a contract with Rapid Bucharest . With Rapid he could not build on earlier successes. It was not until the 2009/10 season that he became a regular player, with the team mostly placed in the midfield of the league. In 2011 he again qualified for the European Cup with Rapid . He was able to repeat this success a year later . At the same time, he and his team made it to the 2012 cup final , but lost 1-0 to Dinamo Bucharest there.
In the summer of 2013 Grigorie left Rapid and moved to Apollon Limassol in Cyprus. At the beginning of 2014 he returned to Romania, where he was signed by FC Brașov . In early 2015 he moved on to CS Concordia Chiajna before signing with CSMS Iași in summer 2015 . In early 2016 he returned to Brașov, which now played in League II.
National team
Grigorie played two games for the Romanian national football team . He made his debut on February 12, 2003 in the friendly against Slovakia , when he came on in the 82nd minute for Mirel Rădoi . In the following period he was no longer considered by national coach Anghel Iordănescu , so that he came to his second and last use only on August 16, 2006 in the friendly against Cyprus . Even the new national coach Victor Pițurcă no longer built on him.
