Vladimir Božović (born November 13, 1981 in Peć , Yugoslavia , now Kosovo ) is a Montenegrin football player . The full-back has been playing for FK Šumadija in Serbia since the beginning of 2017 .

Career

Božović's career began in 1999 in the first team of FK Radnički Kragujevac , who played in the Yugoslav Prva Liga at the time. At the end of the season he switched to league rivals OFK Belgrade . At OFK he could not prevail at first, so that he only came to a few missions and was loaned twice to Proleter Zrenjanin . From the 2004/05 season he was used more often and was able to prevail as a regular player.

In the summer of 2007 Božović left OFK and moved to Rapid Bucharest in Romania . Here he was able to assert himself as a regular player. With Rapid, he qualified for the Europa League in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons . In 2012 he reached the final of the Romanian Cup with his team , but lost there 0-1 to Dinamo Bucharest .

In January 2013 Božović moved to Mordowija Saransk in the Russian Premjer League . After relegation in 2013 , he stayed with the club and managed to get promoted again immediately . From September 2015 to January 2017 he was without a club before moving to FK Šumadija in the Serbian Srpska Liga .

National team

Božović has so far played 42 games for the Montenegrin national football team , which he has belonged to since their first international match on March 24, 2007 against Hungary . He celebrated the greatest success in the national jersey in qualifying for the European Championship 2012 , when the team in Group G u. a. left Switzerland behind and made it to the playoffs. There he was eliminated against the Czech Republic .
