Vasile Chiroiu (born August 13, 1910 in Nagykomlós , Austria-Hungary , † 1976 ) was a Romanian football player and coach . He played a total of 113 games in the highest Romanian soccer league, Divizia A , and took part in the 1938 World Cup. To avoid confusion with his cousin Tudor Chiroiu , he was listed in the Romanian sports press as Chiroiu II .

Career as a player

Vasile Chiroiu began his career in 1924 at Politehnica Timișoara . After a few years that he had spent at Politehnica and in the 1928/29 season at Banatul Timișoara in the Timișoara regional championship, Chiroiu moved to CFR Bucharest in the capital in 1931 , where he also worked when the Romanian professional league Divizia A was founded Played in 1932. In 1934 he joined CAO Oradea , with whom he was Romanian runner- up in the 1934/35 season . Chiroiu returned to Timișoara in 1935, where he joined one of the leading Romanian clubs of the 1930s, Ripensia Timișoara . After he had won the championship two times, he moved to local rivals CAM Timișoara for one season in 1939 and ended his career with Uzinele Metalurgice Cugir in 1941 .

National team

Chiroiu completed nine games for the Romanian national football team in which he could not score. He made his debut on November 29, 1931 against Greece . He celebrated his last appearance at the 1938 World Cup in France.

Career as a coach

Chiroiu trained some lower-class teams in Timiș County after World War II before taking over Metalurgistul Cugir for a while .
