Vebjørn Sørum (born August 11, 1998 in Gjøvik ) is a Norwegian biathlete .

Career

Vebjørn Sørum played his first international competitions at the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2017 in Brezno - Osrblie , where he won the gold medal together with Sivert Guttorm Bakken and Jorgen Brendengen Krogsaetter . From 2018 he was also used in the IBU Cup , where he achieved his first top 10 placement in Idre . At the 2019 Biathlon Junior World Championships , which again took place in Brezno-Osrblie, he won gold in the sprint and in the pursuit. Shortly afterwards he won silver in the individual competition at the 2019 Biathlon Junior European Championships and - together with Hilde Fosse , Randi Sollid Nordvang and Sivert Guttorm Bakken - in the mixed relay race. At the 2020 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Lenzerheide , he won two further medals: silver in the individual competition and gold in the sprint. Shortly afterwards he won his first IBU Cup race in the super sprint in Martell .
