history

The company was founded in 1988 in Saskatoon by Surinder Kumar under the then name Wavecom Electronics Inc. founded. Two years later, modulators were launched to expand cable television. A research center dealing with microwaves was opened in Victoria in the mid-1990s . In 1998 the head office was moved to Victoria. In 2003 Wavecom was renamed VCom. In 2005 the company went public on the Toronto Stock Exchange , where the company was listed under the symbol VCM. In 2006 it was given its current name Vecima Networks Inc.

Product portfolio

The company offers products for two areas of application: broadband cable products include switched digital video (SDV), video-on-demand (VOD), network cameras , DOCSIS 3.0, digital simulcast and digital video . Broadband Wireless includes products for wireless broadband services.
