Moana Dent

Moana Delle (born March 7, 1989 in Münster ) is a German windsurfer .

Moana Delle grew up in Delecke , Soest and Kiel . In Kiel she attended the Hebbel-Gymnasium (Abitur 2008) and the sports boarding school and was the first student at the boarding school. Until 2012 she studied geography at the University of Kiel , but finished her studies without a degree. The Kiel native began windsurfing in 1998 and competes for the Bayer-Uerdingen sailing club . Delle was already very successful as a junior. In 2004 she won the bronze medal and in 2005 the silver medal at the Junior World Championships, in 2007 she won again silver and the ISAF title . In 2006 and 2008 she was German junior champion.

For the first time in the women Delle started at the World Championships on Lake Garda when she was 15 in 2005 and was 37. It took three years before she started again at the Senior World Championships and came 21st ahead of Weymouth and the Isle of Portland occupied. In addition, she won the Kiel Week in 2009 in her boat class. The year 2010 was quite successful. Delle was fifth at the European Championships in Sopot and eighth at the World Championships in Kerteminde . At the Kieler Woche 2011 she came in third. A 14th place at the 2011 World Championships in Perth meant qualification for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London . Before the games, Delle was 12th at the World Championships in front of Cadiz . She also won a World Cup race in France.

In 2008 and 2009 Delle was German champion.

In 2014 Delle ended her competitive sports career.

In 2015 she obtained a (bachelor's) degree in civil and environmental engineering from Leibniz University Hannover. Since then she has been studying civil engineering with a focus on hydraulic engineering at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg.
