Veda Bharati

Swami Veda Bharati (real name: Usharbudh Arya ; * 1933 in Dehradun , India ; † July 14, 2015 in Rishikesh , India) was a Hindu spiritual teacher of the Himalayan tradition of yoga .

He is said to have taught the Yoga Sutras and the Vedas at the age of nine . Before he became one of the closest students of his Guru Rama in 1968 , he worked for many years as a Sanskrit professor in the USA. He continues the tradition of his guru and travels to all continents. As spiritual director, he heads the Sadhana Mandir Trust in Rishikesh, Northern India, and is a spiritual teacher for people worldwide.

Swami Veda Bharati has authored numerous books, including a commentary on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali ; he founded meditation centers in North America, Europe and Southeast Asia.
