Veit Steinmann

Veit Steinmann (* 1988 ) is a German jazz and improvisation musician ( cello ).

Live and act

Steinmann grew up in the west of Munich. Between 2004 and 2008 he played numerous concerts in Germany and Italy in the string big band Bluestrings under Frank Wunderer. Then studied at the Arnhem University of the Arts ; since 2009 he has played in the formation DuckTapeTicket (with Paul Bremen, violin / viola and Anna-Sophie Dreyer, viola) and since 2010 in the Timshel Trio (with Malte Bogner , piano and Jonathan Reiter , drums). He also worked in various dance and theater projects as well as in various band projects in the fields of pop music , jazz, world music , free improvisation and contemporary music. He also plays in the band Holzig (with Hans Arnold (drums), Christoph Möckel , Moritz Sembritzki and Florian Herzog ) and in the Johannes Maas Trio (with Philipp Klahn).

Veitmann teaches at the Open Jazz House School in Cologne. With Duck Tape Ticket ' he is the winner of the Future Sounds competition 2013 at the Leverkusener Jazztage .
