Florian Herzog
Florian Herzog (* 1989 ) is a German jazz musician ( double bass , composition ).
Herzog first studied instrumental with Philippe Aerts in Maastricht , then with Dietmar Fuhr and Dieter Manderscheid at the Cologne University of Music and Dance . With Janning Trumann he formed the Duo Hermann . In recent years he has also worked with Jonas Burgwinkel , Michael Moore , Pablo Held , Sebastian Gramss , Christina Fuchs , Sabine Kühlich and Thea Soti .
He toured with various formations in the Benelux countries, France, Italy and Germany and performed at the Moers Festival , Jazz Maastricht and Brussels Jazz Marathon .
In 2013 he received a grant from the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation. In 2014 he won the composition prize at the Biberach Jazz Prize with his Trio Turn , founded in 2012 ; with this band he received the Conad Jazz Award in Italy in 2015 . With Just Another Foundry he was awarded the Young German Jazz Award 2015 in Osnabrück and won the competition at the Tremplin Jazz Festival in Avignon and the Maastricht Jazz Award in 2016 .
