Anthony Greminger

Anthony Greminger (born July 19, 1994 in Offenburg ) is a German jazz musician ( drums ).

Live and act

Greminger received lessons from his father, a musician, from the age of four based on the books of Dante Agostini . Through him he got to know a wide variety of music genres, especially jazz and fusion . At an early age he took part in competitions ("Heavytones Kids") and drum camps in the USA (lessons with Dave Weckl , Peter Erskine , Horacio Hernández ) and workshops, around 2008 during a work phase with the "European Masterclass Bigband" under the direction of Peter Herbolzheimer .

In 2012 he began studying instrumental with Jonas Burgwinkel at the Cologne University of Music and Dance . He has been a member of the Federal Jazz Orchestra since March 2018 and has been involved in its album for 30 years .

Greminger plays in the Cologne jazz scene in different line-ups, initially in the RYMM trio with Thea Soti and Salim Javaid and the experimental saxophone trio Just Another Foundry (with Jonas Engel and Florian Herzog ), whose debut album Bouwer was released by Double Moon Records in 2017 ; In 2018 the second album was released by jazzwerkstatt. In 2017 he founded the TripHop jazz band Totenhagen / Dudek / Anft / Greminger together with Fabian Dudek . He can also be heard on albums with 4mament or Otto Normal .

Prizes and awards

In 2015 he was a finalist at the Young Munich Jazz Prize with the trio Just Another Foundry . and in the same year received the Young German Jazz Prize . With this trio he won the Tremplin Jazz Award de Avignon in 2016 and the Maastricht Jazz Award in 2017 .
